Whitetail Deer Hunts
The Bison Ranch at Coteau
Ridge features acres and acres of virgin prairie that meets rolling
farmland where row crops and small grains flourish. This diversity
of habitat is where whitetail deer thrive.
Due to North
Dakota laws, it is difficult to get a license to hunt bucks.
Tags are drawn by lottery; applications become available sometime
in May, the deadline is in early June, and the lotteries are
held in July. The more often you apply, the greater your chances
of getting a buck tag.
However, archery deer tags are readily available. We have several
deer stands out in very remote areas where some nice bucks have
been harvested. |

Here's what you
can expect of a deer hunt at The Bison Ranch:
You must wear orange. It's a law
in North Dakota.
Our
deer stands and tree stands will give you a unique perspective
on the wildlife inhabiting the ranch.
A day of hunting that begins the
evening before, when your guides will be scouting over 20,000
acres of private land. You'll be sitting down to one of Oren's
famous breakfasts before your morning hunt.
Back at the camp, you'll get to
show off your cooking skills in our fully-equipped kitchen. You'll
tell tall tales grouped around our big old wood-burning stove.
Or, if you'd prefer, we'll "guide you" to some colorful
local establishments for home-cooked noon meals and great evening
steaks.

Email justask@thebisonranch.com for rates. Discounts
for children to age 18 when accompanies by an adult hunter.
With proper licensing, you may
hunt whitetail in combo with any other type of in-season wildlife
for an additional $500. For example, if you book a 3-day upland
hunt, during those three days of hunting included with your package,
you may (if you have the proper licensing from the ND Game and
Fish Department) hunt whitetail for $500 added to the cost of
your upland hunt.
When applying for a deer license,
please indicate 2J2 as first choice and
2F2 as second choice. (Map
